Sunrise Lake

Sunrise Lake is a man-made lake located in Mendham, New Jersey. It was created in the 1950s as part of the Morris Canal system, and is now used for recreation and fishing. The lake has a surface area of approximately 60 acres, and is stocked with bass, trout, catfish, and other fish. There is also a swimming area, picnic tables, and a playground.

 

Sunrise Lake is a great place to come for a day of fishing or swimming, or just to relax and enjoy the scenery. The lake is surrounded by trees and has a beautiful view of the mountains. There are also several hiking trails nearby, so you can explore the area. 

 

What To Do

 

With the summer in full swing, you can't resist visiting the scenic lakeside town of Mendham. During the summer, Sunrise Lake has several activities for families to enjoy. Campout on the Beach is one such event, which is sure to please kids of all ages. There's also a Tiny Tot Tuesday program for little ones, where parents can explore the lake before it opens.

 

This lake is open Tuesday through Sunday, with admission fees of $7 for adults and $5 for children ages five to 15 (seniors and children under four are free). The park is open to the public daily during the summer and closed only in the last week of August, unless a holiday falls. However, this doesn't mean that you can't enjoy the park's amenities.

 

Attractions

 

The Attractions at Sunrise Lake in MendHAM, NJ provide a variety of family fun. This lake provides a water-top obstacle course for the children to enjoy, beach tent rentals, private lake use reservations, and more. The park is open every day during the summer months except Mondays, when a holiday falls on a Tuesday. There is free parking at Sunrise Lake. Located at 270 Mendham Road, the park is also accessible for strollers.

 

If you want to stay on the lake and not go on a boat, you can visit the Russ Myers Recreation Area and the Doe Meadow Area. Nearby, you can visit the Seeing Eye, Inc., a guide dog school, located one mile to the east. Fosterfields, a living history farm, is located about 2 miles to the northeast. All of these attractions will keep you entertained throughout the day.

Sunrise Lake Beach Club is a great place to spend a summer day. The beach is clean and the water is refreshing. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas to relax in, and the snack bar has a variety of food and drinks to choose from.
